The Psalmist David (King David) wrote this in Psalm 9. 1 I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. 2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High. This is a man who lack absolutely nothing. He had everything he wanted yet he knew that without God we are nothing, and we owe him everything.
I am totally taking the verses out of context but the only reason why I do this is because it struck me when I was reading. I have not always been thankful to God; to my Lord.
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
There has been a time in where I was rebellious and defiant to God. A time when I did not see what he was doing for me; I was blind and couldn’t see neither realized how much it had costed him; to love me it costed him his life. The least I can do, is start everything I do, praising and thanking him for everything
